The Dobby Club API. Everything's cool in Dobby Club.

Minimal Mind Labs

No client. No deadline. No business case. Just a developer who wanted to learn FastAPI and Supabase properly, and a favourite TV show with an inexhaustible supply of quotable material. The Dobby Club API is a fully open source RESTful API serving the complete Peep Show dataset — characters, actors, episodes, series, locations, scripts, quotes, audio, avatars, and memes. Ten endpoints, live documentation, and a Supabase bucket with the good memes. The quotes endpoint is the centrepiece: full script search across every series and episode, surfacing exactly who said a line, when, and where. Or go the other way — request a random quote and let the show decide. Everything is publicly accessible for GET requests, MIT licensed, and built with a contributing guide for anyone who wanted to add to it. It was a first look at FastAPI and Supabase — and it shows in places. But it shipped, it runs, and it quietly found an audience. Members of the open source community picked it up as a teaching resource for lectures and demonstrations. Not planned. Entirely welcome. The kind of outcome that only happens when you build something real rather than a tutorial clone.

Built for fun. Ended up in university lectures. Not a bad result.
